About the film

Seeds of Imagination follows multidisciplinary artist Zeph Farmby as he creates an original painting commissioned by the DUMBO Business Improvement District for the 2025 DUMBO Drop, an annual Brooklyn community event raising funds for P.S. 307 and the Dock Street School. What begins inside Farmby’s studio expands beyond the canvas, as his imagery appears on banners, T-shirts, and miniature parachutes, reaching thousands of people.

Moving between intimate creative process and public celebration, the film explores what happens when a deeply personal work becomes part of a community’s shared experience. As the painting’s imagery moves through the neighborhood, its meaning extends beyond the artist’s intentions. Seeds of Imagination examines authorship, imagination, and the distance between making something privately and discovering what it can mean to others.
